Controversies Surrounding Suspended IAS Officer Abhishek Prakash in Uttar Pradesh

Abhishek Prakash, a suspended IAS officer in Uttar Pradesh, is currently under investigation for his controversial involvement in the Sael Solar P6 Private Limited project approval case. Prakash, who previously served as the CEO of Invest UP, is facing multiple probes, including disciplinary inquiries and investigations by the police, the vigilance establishment, and the enforcement directorate.

Aside from his role as CEO of Invest UP, Prakash also held the position of Secretary in the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department of the state government. His suspension was ordered by the state government following accusations by a representative of Sael Solar P6 Private Limited regarding his alleged interactions with a middleman named Nikant Jain.

Jain, who was arrested on the same day as the allegation, reportedly demanded a commission for facilitating approval from Invest UP's evaluation committee for the solar power project. The state government has indicated that once the chargesheet is served on Prakash, an inquiry officer will be appointed to investigate the allegations against him.

Furthermore, the state government is scrutinizing a report from the former State Revenue Board Chairman Rajnish Dubey, which highlights significant irregularities in the land acquisition process for the defense corridor. Prakash may face further action for any irregularities uncovered in this regard by the Lucknow District Magistrate.

The investigations are ongoing, with the police looking into a FIR lodged against an unnamed senior officer of Invest UP. The state vigilance establishment is also conducting a probe that covers administrative, financial, and criminal aspects related to the controversy surrounding the Sael Solar P6 Private Limited project.

Abhishek Prakash's alleged involvement in contradictions between the notes on the file of the solar project case and the approved minutes of the Invest UP evaluation committee meeting is also under scrutiny. The discrepancy regarding the recommendation of the committee for further evaluation has raised questions about Prakash's role in the approval process.
