Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhi accuses government of using Waqf Amendment Bill to divert attention from US tariffs imposition by President Trump, alleging pre-planned tactics to avoid addressing tariff issues.

Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhi has accused the government of attempting to divert attention from the imposition of 26% tariffs on India by US President Donald Trump by linking it to the passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill. Pratapgarhi claimed that the Parliament was working late into the night when the tariffs were imposed, and suggested that the timing was intentional to distract the public.

"The country, especially the BJP voters, must understand that this Waqf Amendment Bill was pre-planned to deviate people from the issue of tariffs. The US imposed 26% tariffs, but the government is not addressing it," Pratapgarhi, the Rajya Sabha MP of the Congress party, stated. He also commented on the Prime Minister's current whereabouts, alleging that PM has left for Thailand.
